Washing the pots and pans used to cook was an extremely time-consuming and physically-exhausting task that the employees constantly dreaded. On top of it being a huge time-consumer, it also used a lot of water and cleaning agents, adding to the cost as well.
Before implementing the Granule Smart from Granuldisk, the pots and pans were manually pre-washed in sinks and then rinsed with a water hose, using a lot of flowing water to remove tough burnt-on food and gravy. Finally the wash ware was sanitized with a water-based pot washer. This process was extremely laborious and time consuming, and it also created a lot of waste in water and chemicals. The water consumption in the wash areas (pre-wash and pot-wash areas) was measured before the Granule Smart from Granuldisk was installed in order to have a baseline for the comparison.
Today Springleaf Prata Place runs their new Granule Smart about 62 wash cycles daily. With almost half the amount of water, time and energy consumed, the savings are substantial. Tough pre-washing in sinks is now a thing of the past and without the need for soaking and scrubbing, the staff can focus on other tasks. Before, the daily ware washing routine was managed in 5.2 hours. Today, this is easily solved in 2.6 hours with completely sanitized wash ware as a result.
