Continental Equipment is a wholly owned subsidiary of NKR Continental and manages the marketing activities for the group.
NKR Continental was founded in 1956 by Mdm Tan Siew Kheng and our primary business was to manufacture commercial refrigerators and freezers. In 1972, we expanded our manufacturing capabilities into Commercial Stainless Steel Kitchen Equipment.
In the 1980s, we led the transformation of coffeeshops with F&N and YHS (more commonly known as Yeo’s) and started expanding into restaurant kitchens, supplying and installing the 1st Island Cooking Suite in Singapore in the Royal Crowne Plaza hotel.
Going into the 90s, we continued to evolve and invent, bringing in the 1st Sushi Robots in Singapore, the 1st Fine Dining Show Kitchen at the Mezzanine at Grand Hyatt Hotel, as well as the 1st Specially Designed Hospital Food Delivery System.
Since the 2000s, we have further expanded to working with educational and training institutes to develop culinary training facilities and food service facilities, as well as working with large conglomerates to equip their corporate cafeteria and pantry for their large offices.
Since 2020, NKR Continental has been a part of Yoshimura Food Holdings.
Today, continue to stay at the forefront of the commercial kitchens industry by collaborating with some of the world’s leading Foodservice Equipment Manufacturers, as well as by working closely with many universities to research, innovate and develop custom solutions as the F&B landscape is ever changing with newer technology.
